Fort Worth, Texas - Marguerite Metz (Mickie) Halaburt, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully in her home in Fort Worth, Texas on April 6, 2025, surrounded by family after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was 93 years old.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Albritton (Mike) of Fort Worth; son, John Halaburt (Louise) of Austin; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Eugene Halaburt, and son, Geoffrey Halaburt.
Mickie and Gene lived in Silverton on Reese Street from 1988 to 2000.
She served as the town's Physician Assistant during that time. She was often seen riding her bicycle around town. Mickie was active in A Theatre Group as an actor, costumer, and all-round helper. She and Gene were parishioners at St. Patrick Church.
Mickie was a real live wire. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her humor, spirit, and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Mickie's life was held in Fort Worth on May 12.
