Greywolf sadly passed away in my arms this morning at the vets. He had to be euthanized due to severely crashing from a twisted intestinal tract that happened during the night. When he heard my voice, he could not open his eyes but he did mutter a few sounds and tried to purr in my arms.
Greywolf was born about 15 years ago, either late August or early September in 2011 most likely on the block of Natalia’s Restaurant. His family I nicknamed The Old Town Square Kitties. He was one of four siblings born to a tuxedo gal. He was preceded in death by his brother Blackie.
His brother Mustachio is still alive and currently quite sad. Greywolf also has a couple other humans that meant a lot to him, Mike Andreatta and Bill Walko.
Greywolf turned into a beautiful wonderful cat when he got older. He became my most docile feral. He loved cuddles with me, wanting lots of pets and hugs. He was extremely playful even in older age, always having fun with his toys. He would bounce around too all over the yards and patio he hung out at.
He would beg for chicken from Bill at the side door of Natalia’s Restaurant each summer season. He loved his chicken off the buffet line. He’d also get early breakfast from his friend Mike most mornings over the years. Mike and his brother Ralph fed him , his siblings and mom when they were wee little kittens.
Greywolf also had a second family briefly when he went to live with the Joyce’s to try him out as a mouser. He mainly lived in his crate for several days and I’d visit and let him out briefly to check on things. He was very sad being apart from his brothers so he went back over to Natalia’s to be with them.
My boys had such a tight bond. Their sister disappeared early on possibly moving over to another territory since there were sighting of her, but the brothers stuck together in a close knit family. They would eat together, play together and sleep up against each other.
I will miss my boy so much. I loved cuddling him, watching him play. He would still bounce off the walls even just several days ago. He’d talk to me often with his meows, head butting me, wanting pets, cuddling up against me. He was such a joy to have in my life. RIP my beautiful boy!
