Cozy Brockman – Gallegos passed away peacefully on Monday August 3rd, 2026, with is doggy sister Ruger and his humans DeAnne Gallegos and Jared Odgen right by his side.
Cozy had just turned 15 years old in July and had been diagnosed with a tumor growing in his lung in May of 2026. Cozy came into the Gallegos household in August of 2024 when his mom Nancy Brockman passed away and has been a beloved member of our family since then and was always a part of Ruger’s dog pack for the past 10 years. Cozy settled into being a full-time Silverton Dog who fetched his tennis ball everyday with Lazer focus (sending many of them down the river to Durango), swam in the Animas River like a gold medal champion (most of the time…. sometimes I had to get in and fish him out) and loved snuggling his sister Ruger during naps throughout the day. One of the first things we did when Cozy came into our dog pack was cut his “City Poodle” hairdo and he rocked a “poodle hawk” (mohawk) ever since with style, confidence and glee. He settled into his new life with curiousness, calmness, confidence and made his way up the doggy pack pecking order with grace and love. He was one of kind and can never be replaced nor forgotten with all those that he met and made his way into their hearts.
Cozy is proceeded by his sister Diesel Dog, his mom Nancy Brockman and is survived by his sister Ruger (dog), brother Otto Mears (dog) and his co-mom DeAnne Gallegos. He was a funny, bright and spunky labradoodle who is now reunited with his mom Nancy in heaven, and I am sure they are very happy to be together once again. RIP Cozy Dog
