1942-2026
Dorothy Ann Zanoni, a life long resident of Silverton, passed away on July 8, 2026, at Montgage Creek Nursing Facility in Montrose, Colorado.
Dorothy was born in Denver, Colorado on February 25, 1942 to Robert and Rose Knoll. She returned to Silverton with her parents in her early grade school years. She attended Silverton Public School and graduated in 1960.
Dorothy married Zeke Zanoni on June 6th, 1959. She and Zeke had two children when the family moved to Denver in late 1961. While in Denver she worked at First National Bank in bookkeeping and Colorado National Bank as a Proof Machine operator and supervisor of the department.
In 1968 the family returned to Silverton as a family of five with three children Donna, Dione and David.
After returning from Denver Dorothy became the owner and operator of The Parlor which was a gift shop, candy and ice cream parlor. Around the mid-70's she severed a term on the town council.
In the early 80's,The Parlor was sold. Dorothy then decided to work a few different jobs. A ticket agent for Durango - Silverton Railroad in the Silverton office and served as County Treasurer for 5 years in mid to late 1980's. In the early 1990's until 2008 served as County Clerk. Where she retired.
During her free time through the years she enjoyed the outdoors, walking and hiking, mushroom picking and gardening. There was also a number of winters in the1970s she enjoyed snowmobiling.
Dorothy is survived by two children Donna and David, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She will be forever loved and missed.
