ELKO - This January, Ian Farrell Crawford, Elko’s “The Show,” died.

Ian had a good heart and a wild spirit that brought excitement to wherever he was. One of his cousins said, “His smile did truly light up a room.”

Ian was a loving son, brother, a loyal friend, an incredible Artist and a great father to his daughter, the Ninja princess, Elodie. Ian was born in Durango, Colorado, July 2, 1976.

He was an outdoors person who always relished challenges and adventure. He worked on the settings and presentations of about 22 Burning Man Festivals which brought him spiritual peace and happiness.

Ian took art classes at the U. of Hawaii and Great Basin College. He taught snowboarding at Park City Utah and became certified in tatoo artistry in Elko. His talent was unique since all his work was done free hand. The same art was used in his tremendous paintings.

Ian leaves behind his daughter, Elodie May Crawford; mother, Peggy Anne Duffy; brother, Sean Crawford; sister, Maire Foster; and stepdad, David Cook. Ian had a stepbrother, Brian Cook; and two stepsisters: Tracy and Kristin Cook. Ian and Elodie had a little swim team of nieces, Alhana and Lydia, plus two crew nephews, Gabriel and Michael, as well as a large extended family.

Ian will be buried July 27, 2024, in Silverton, Colorado’s San Juan Mountains next to his little brother and father. The service will be at 10:30 a.m. at Hillside Cemetery
