A large rock is hauled down Greene Street for the 1953 Hardrockers Holidays celebration in Silverton. The event was started 65 years ago, in 1949. The 1953 Hardrockers Holidays was the last one for 21 years. It was revived in 1974. This year’s celebration will be at Kendall Mountain Recreation Area Aug. 8-10. Found: Dog Lost During 4th of July Fireworks Show

Konni, the one-year-old Belgian Malinois puppy, was here on vacation with her owners, James and Dana Lowery of Phoenix, Arizona, for the 4th of July holiday. They were camping down by County Road 31 near the P&G mine area when she ran off during the 4th of July fireworks show.

International Soccer Camp In Silverton

OHV Rollover on Buffalo Boy Road

On Monday, July 8th, 2024, an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) was traveling back down the offshoot road of Stoney Pass, San Juan County Road 3B, which is known as the Buffalo Boy Road. The OHV went over the edge and rolled down as the four passengers jumped out of the tumbling vehicle.
