A large rock is hauled down Greene Street for the 1953 Hardrockers Holidays celebration in Silverton. The event was started 65 years ago, in 1949. The 1953 Hardrockers Holidays was the last one for 21 years. It was revived in 1974. This year’s celebration will be at Kendall Mountain Recreation Area Aug. 8-10.
