The Ouray County commissioners approved a contract that would make the Ouray County Sheriff's Office the provider of police services in Ouray. If the city council approves it, the amended contract will reflect higher charges for the services. The Ouray independent police department crumbled after Interim Police Chief Daric Harvey’s contract was not renewed and all but one employee resigned.
