Opinion

Dear Editor,

I remember Zeke Zanoni’s “Mining Shop.” I was a customer. A rocky decorated interior room was cluttered with stones and boulders. In the center was the “mine-ride” with an old single weathered mine door attached to a tall container-sized box, with a side “window’’.

Letter to the Editor:

I want to sing the praises of your community. I was participating in the Iron Horse Cycling event and somehow left my backpack on the summit. I was at my wit’s end and did not know what to do. Road was closed, snowing, and no return traffic for a few hours.

Letter to the Community

Our community mourns a tragic outcome for a local mama bear. This outcome was avoidable and we can all work together to better protect the local wildlife that we share a home with.

Off The Chart!

We had more rain this week than we had in all of June, which was a very wet monsoon month. 4.06 versus 4.03. Life is way too busy right now - to go over all of my decades of field notes. If NWS Grand Junction would like to crunch numbers Freddy will have those with you.

Monsoons Return

Monsoons Return

For two weather weeks, we had little or nothing in the way of measurable rain. That changed decisively this past Tuesday morning. Every day ever ever since, we have had measurable precipitation. We went from rolling a goose egg to 3.26 total for the month of August so far!

Heat Week

We were way too hot for the week that just was. Even so - with eighties or more - most of them not - cool air from rain nearby gave us some much needed relief must afternoons into the evenings. Monsoon promise will soon become our longed for experience!
