Twenty nine consecutive days below zero is the longest arctic air stretch that your correspondent can recall up here in the polar hamlet. That has been our reality since the last two days of December. So far, all of us mountain folk are holding up surprisingly well.

e enjoyed a meteorologi-cally Wnon-consequential weather week with daytime temperatures mostly in the mid-60s. Night time temperatures were all below freezing - mostly in the mid-20s and gradually descending.
