February began with snow and ended accordingly. No thaw prior to the last day of January, and the next week long plus muddy water even continued into March 2nd.

Dear Editor,
While visiting Silverton for the weekend(14-17Feb) to enjoy the area and watch the Skijoring. (Amazing by the way) We checked into the Grand Imperial late afternoon and was fortunate that the handicapped spot was available out front.

What a wet week followed by a nearly dry week. Wednesday morning, we had four inches of snow with 100th of an inch for water content. Lots of blue sky - more days than not.
This made for only Tuesday being below freezing.

O ur February saw got a jump start on the calendar on January 31st. From then through the 7th of February, we experienced two days in the 50s and six more in the mid-40s.
Nights have been mostly in the mid-teens unless we are thoroughly overcast - which made for two nights 10° warmer.

Editor,
You might not know this about me, but I love puzzles. I have a large puzzle board that we keep on the kitchen table to work on over coffee, and we spend (sometimes) months working on.

Dear Editor,
One of our Silverton feral kitty residents has been at Riverview Animal Hospital in Durango since Sunday. As I write this he’s still undergoing treatment for a megacolon.
So far his bill is almost $3000.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
