San Juan County Coroner Identifies Fatality On Kendall Mountain

On Sunday, March 16th, 2025, Silverton Medical Rescue received a Search and Rescue call at 7:10 pm that there was a person trapped in a tree well on Kendall Mountain, just north of the Town of Silverton town limits. The group was recreating on the Northwest side of Kendall Mountain.

Silverton Powerhouse Open House Showcased Resident Artists

The Silverton Powerhouse, located at 1250 San Juan County Road 2 just east of the Town of Silverton, held an open house Saturday night that showcased the current resident artists and gave a tour of the space.

MONTROSE: • The remains recently found in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park were a missing man from Denver. Jordan Marsters, 31-year-old from Denver, was reported missing in mid-February and was last seen in Montrose County on February 13th.

MSI is Leading Mountain Science for the San Juans

Mountain Studies Institute today is a different non-profit from when it started here in Silverton over 23 years ago. They not only have an office here in Silverton with two local employees, but they also have a main office in Durango, where the majority of employees work.
