Creature Feature – Bighorn Sheep

Bighorn sheep can be found throughout the San Juans, sometimes right along the highway, as was the case with the two rams in the accompanying photo. It is also not unusual to see them up in the cliffs along Highway 550 heading up Red Mountain Pass from Ouray.

30 Years Ago March 30, 1995 The helicopter that was buzzing up and down the valley recently was involved in filming the Marlboro commercial at Animas Forks. Now rumor has it that Animas Forks proved unacceptable for some reason, and the film crew went up South Mineral Creek instead.
