20 Years Ago April 8, 2005 On April 9, the Colorado Division of Wildlife plans to release six Canada lynx — three females and three males — in the San Juan Mountains near Creede. The release will mark the fifth year that the DOW has released the cats.

Cory Smith, who grew up in Silverton, and his business partners purchased Silverton LP Gas (Propane) utility company from a long time Silverton local, Linda Luther (formerly Bingel). Cory Smith purchased the company after trying many different ways to move back home to Silverton.
