Camp Hardrock Starts This Week

The Hardrock 100 Endurance Race will start here in Silverton and will go counterclockwise this year, heading to Lake City, Ouray, Telluride, and then back to Silverton.

Affordable Housing Project Update

In August of 2022, the Town of Silverton announced their purchase of the Zanoni Brothers’ land next to the Anvil Subdivision at the northwest end of town for $430,000.

20 years ago July 3, 2003 There was a black barber’s chair sitting outside of the Miner’s Union Theatre recently, and it disappeared. Whoever made it disappear — possibly thinking it was headed for the dump or was a freebie — is kind- ly asked to make it reappear soon.

EPA Region 8 Administrator Visits San Juan County

Last week the Environment Protection Agency Bonita Peak Superfund site team was in town to meet with local leadership and give an update on the project’s next phase. They also brought Region 8 (the Mountains and Plains) Administrator KC Becker to town to meet with the County and Town of Silverton.
