SMPA Response to Power Outage Last Tuesday

Editor’s Note: Alex Shelley, Communications Executive for San Miguel Power Association, sent a letter to Silverton and San Juan County leadership in regards to the power outage last Tuesday night. We are printing it in full below.

Wednesday November 17th, 16.7 degrees at 7 a.m. A few bright pink cumulus clouds at sunrise. Cleared off with a gentle breeze and a high of 42.2 degrees. Thursday 8.4 degrees with the driest air over Colorado. Cirrus clouds early on and building later. Chilly breeze and a 49.2 degree high.

Peace in the Valley

Wednesday November 10th, 29.1 degrees at 7am. Lightly snowing 1.5 inches with .12 water content. Variable wind. Close to calm by late afternoon. 39.5 high warmer than expected. Thursday 18.8 degrees bottom out. Cirrus clouds up canyon. Clear otherwise. Snow …all day long on Kendall.

Dear Editor I just want to express my gratitude for all Veteran’s today and every day. You are not forgotten. My deep appreciation for your sacrifice stems from my grandfather who served in the U.S Army (twice) in World War II and my father who served in the U.S Army in Vietnam in 1968.
