LOVING LIFE!

Wednesday 7am 2.3 degrees above zero. Tiny flakes falling and .3 inches measured. Up canyon snow blowing. Intensifying late morning into the afternoon. Then, blue patches with cumulus clouds out of the north northwest and a 24.9 degree high. Thursday 14.3 degrees overnight.

Reach Out!

Make new friends but keep the old one is silver and the others gold. We all learn this in small kid time. What really matters is to apply this approach throughout our lives.

It was with great shock on the passing of Mark Esper. I was born and raised in Silverton, graduated in 1954 from Silverton high school and left after I graduated from the Colorado State University. I still return to my hometown every chance I get.

Slow own you’re moving too fast. Be still and make the moment last. When the world gets too much with us around here – we just take a hike! Or, if you prefer – strap on boards or snowshoes. The important thing is let go of the weight of the world and relocate and recombobulate yourself in nature!

Dear Editor: It’s when Silverton Skijoring takes place that it reinforces how much this is truly a community event.

Accomplishment and Contentment

Making things happen by throwing in with your friends and neighbors. Sweat bonding we call it. Like with the weekend that just was. Two days of Flying Horses followed after three days of getting it all put together. Sunday afternoon we said, “See you next year!

Dear Editor, The 2022 Yeti Dunes (almost, but not quite) annual golf tournament was another great success with the largest attendance in recent memory. Many thanks to all who participated and to the folks that traveled from distant places like Durango and Aztec to play and observe.
