Wednesday 7am 2.3 degrees above zero. Tiny flakes falling and .3 inches measured. Up canyon snow blowing. Intensifying late morning into the afternoon. Then, blue patches with cumulus clouds out of the north northwest and a 24.9 degree high. Thursday 14.3 degrees overnight.

It was with great shock on the passing of Mark Esper. I was born and raised in Silverton, graduated in 1954 from Silverton high school and left after I graduated from the Colorado State University. I still return to my hometown every chance I get.

Making things happen by throwing in with your friends and neighbors. Sweat bonding we call it. Like with the weekend that just was. Two days of Flying Horses followed after three days of getting it all put together. Sunday afternoon we said, “See you next year!

Dear Editor, The 2022 Yeti Dunes (almost, but not quite) annual golf tournament was another great success with the largest attendance in recent memory. Many thanks to all who participated and to the folks that traveled from distant places like Durango and Aztec to play and observe.
