Dear Editor, In response to Rick Roberts’ letter in the November 17, 2022, issue of the Silverton Standard, I am compelled to correct his many inaccurate and misleading claims regarding his proposed impacts on the wetlands located in and adjacent to the 700 block of Snowden Street.

This was a completely dry weather week with hardly any clouds Most mornings were a but below zero. If you just dress for it is perfectly comfortable! Bare branches and twig time suits a lot of us who choose to be here this time of year quite well.

Although sometimes difficult to comprehend, events within our own lifetimes can vanish into the mists of obscurity comparable to those of centuries past. The Ute – Comanche Peace Treaty of 1977 is a case study in this phenomenon.

I am writing you today as a fourth-generation Silvertonian. Our family has loved Silverton, the mountains and the nature surrounding us since the late 1800s. I was born in the Silverton hospital and graduated from Silverton school. Our home is at 746 Snowden.
