Long Time Community Leader Wiley Carmack Dies at 85

Silverton resident Wiley Carmack passed away in Durango, Colorado on June 2, 2021. He was 85 years old. Wiley was born in Bayfield, Colorado on August 11, 1935 to Walter “Rody” and Hazel Carmack. Graduating from Bayfield High School in 1953, Wiley joined the United States Air Force.

Ruby was born in Norwood, Colorado on July 31, 1937. She passed away in Aztec, New Mexico on December 29, 2020. Ruby was 83 years old. She married James Hook Jr. of Silverton, Colorado. Ruby had many fond memories of Silverton. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Bonnie Wilson.
