Carol Lynn (French) Young, loving wife, mother and grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on Thursday, August 5th, 2021, at the age of 65, at her home in Silverton, Colorado.

Born in San Mateo, California, Priscilla worked in the Sierra Nevada Mountains setting chokers for a logging company and was also a firefighter there.

Chason Russell passed away in a kayak incident on Saturday June 19th on the Crystal River. He worked as an outdoor instructor for the Telluride Academy in his hometown of Telluride for almost 15 years before moving to Aspen in 2011.

Long Time Community Leader Wiley Carmack Dies at 85

Silverton resident Wiley Carmack passed away in Durango, Colorado on June 2, 2021. He was 85 years old. Wiley was born in Bayfield, Colorado on August 11, 1935 to Walter “Rody” and Hazel Carmack. Graduating from Bayfield High School in 1953, Wiley joined the United States Air Force.
