On July 29th in the counties north of Silverton, heavy rain fell for most of the day, triggering flash floods and mudslides that cascaded down the mountains and hills. At approximately 6:45 pm, a “GO” evacuation order was issued for areas near Ponderosa Village and Culter Creek Dr, east of Highway 550, between Ridgway and Ouray.
