From the August 2, 1890 edition of the Silverton Standard: ELECTRICITY COMING BY SEPTEMBER 1.
The Silverton Electric Light and Power Co. are making good progress with the erection of the poles and expect to have them all up by the end of the week. The dynamos are here and the engine and boiler on the way. The building is completed, and the light will be running on or before September 1.
