The Silverton San Juan Volunteer Fire Department received a request from the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department to come over and assist with the evacuation process due to the Gold Mountain Fire, which has been burning since June 27th. Neighboring emergency agency assistance is common for regional partners, and helping your neighbor is just plain ol’ being a good neighbor.
