The 55th year of the Ironhorse Bicycle Classic Race returns Saturday

The Ironhorse Bicycle Classic started coming up to Silverton in 1972 to race the “Ironhorse” steam engine of the Durango Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad. This year will be the 55th year of the event which brings 2200-3000 cyclists up over two mountain passes down into the heart of Silverton ending in Memorial Park. The group of Cyclists leave Durango about 7:30am and some of the top winners...
