The iconic Grand Imperial Hotel in downtown Silverton has been sold to Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad owner Al Harper in a $1.6 million deal that closed on Friday, April 17.
The new owner, American Heritage Railways Hotels LLC, controlled by Harper, plans $500,000 in upgrades over the next year and promotion of overnight train packages.
