On Friday, July 17th, in the middle of the day, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office and Silverton Medical Rescue Team got a 911 dispatch call regarding a female climber who was injured and sitting on top of the high, jagged Wham Ridge on Vestal Peak.

Anglers asked not to fish after noon on Animas, Dolores and San Juan rivers

With low water levels and water temperatures consistently rising near 71 degrees, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has enacted a voluntary afternoon fishing closure for the Animas River through Durango, the San Juan River through Pagosa Springs, and the Dolores River below McPhee Dam.
