What is Do Silverton Right? The Silverton Chamber of Commerce / Visit Silverton was awarded a yearlong mentorship and consulting of 100 hours by the Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) for a “DO SILVERTON RIGHT” campaign and principles a year ago.

Last Thursday, Mountain Studies Institute held its annual Moving Mountains Fundraiser down in Durango at the Powerhouse Science Center and had about one hundred supporters of the nonprofit attend.

Longtime Silverton local Ron Renowden, who was a San Juan Silverton Volunteer Fire Department member, received a funeral procession by his fellow firemen that marched through the streets of Silverton last Saturday, September 27th.

Fall season is in full swing here in Silverton, and the highways and town have been packed. Some say it feels busier than July these past weeks, and the train ridership numbers have been proving it. Silverton Chamber business members receive train counts every day.
