September 30, 2005 Silverton Mountain Ski Area this week finally received the goahead from the Bureau of Land Management to offer guided and unguided skiing on 1,300 acres of public land north of Silverton. The permit goes into effect immediately, but the area has said it will offer guided- only skiing this winter.
