135 Years Ago From the October 4, 1890 edition of the Silverton Standard: LOUIS WYMAN SMASHES TOLL GATE; ACQUITTED OF DEED. Louis Wyman appeared before Justice Abbott on Wednesday charged with breaking down a toll gate upon the Silverton and Animas Forks toll road.

Ben Roberts, one of the proprietors of San Juan Structures, which prebuilds custom log homes, has been coming to Silverton to ski in the winters since 2009. He moved to Silverton fulltime three summers ago and enjoys skiing, exploring, and hiking around the San Juans.

Gary Davis is a long time Silverton Local who used to have a Weaving shop that spooled yarn and weaved clothing in the heart of downtown Silverton and after retiring from that Gary took a break.

The Gerardo Acosta Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Silverton School graduates was created by Austin and Casie Lashley after the loss of one of their dearest friends, who felt more like family, Gerardo Acosta Sr. on June 23rd, 2019.
