Local charged for bridge vandalism

Wade Andrus Christensen, a Silverton local was charged with 2nd degree criminal tampering by the San Juan County Sheriff on June 3rd, 2022, for vandalizing the newly constructed small wooden trail bridge on the rainbow trail that runs parallel to Highway 550 North of Silverton.

10 years Ago May 31, 2012 Mary L. Andersen dies; she was county clerk Mary L. Andersen, who served as San Juan County Clerk and Recorder for many years, passed away May 16, 2012. Mary was born and lived in Silverton until her retirement from public service.

This Memorial Day Weekend was packed with Veteran Celebration events. The Ironhorse Bicycle Classic Race once again partnered with the Al Harper of the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train to bring Veterans and Gold Star Families up on the Train to Silverton.
