EPA Meets with Town and County Officials

On Wednesday, May 10th, the Environmental Protection Agency staff and their contractors met with the Town of Silverton Trustees and the San Juan County Commissioners in a joint town/county meeting.

From the May 9, 1891 edition of the Silverton Standard: FORGERY SUSPECT ESCAPES FROM JAIL Morgan, the man under arrest in the county jail for forgery, made his escape on Saturday evening. He made a hole in the masonry, under the window, about four inches long and eighteen inches wide.

20 years ago May 16, 2003 The baby arrived along with the train. Tiffany and Kevin DeKay became parents for the second time (and Hannah became a big sister for the first time) on May 10 when Tiffany gave birth to a girl.

Silverton Kids Soar in Peter Pan

Last week Weehawken Dance put on an elaborate multi-day production of Peter Pan, featuring some of Silverton’s own. The show began with the “sweets” performance, featuring dances from the younger participants and a few older kids, including Amelia Edwards, in the more complicated routines.

On Saturday, April 29, Silverton hosted the 365Health Fair (formerly 9News Health Fair) after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were over 40 attendees from Silverton and surrounding communities.
