Great Weather for Ironhorse Bicycle Classic

This last Saturday was full of sunshine, smiles, and excited racers coming off the mountain passes down through town to finish the 48-mile bicycle race from Durango to Silverton at Memorial Park.

Looking Back!

20 years ago May 30, 2003 Silverton High School graduated four students this year, but the small numbers did not dampen the enthusiasm of the ceremony, nor did it lessen the community support for the graduates.

On Wednesday morning between four and five o’clock the fire bell awoke the town from its slumbers. Firemen and citizens hurriedly dressed, and on looking out saw clouds of smoke arising from the neighborhood of Twelfth and Blair streets.

Silverton Awarded EPA/ Brownfield’s Grant for $800,000

In November 2022, the town of Silverton applied for an Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield’s Multipurpose Grant to target environmental cleanup sites around town that will also improve the quality of life for residents.

Lois Mackenzie is retiring after ten years of service to the Silverton community. She was the Clinical Coordinator at the Silverton Clinic in the Miner’s Union Hospital. The Board of Directors invites everyone to join us in celebrating Lois on June 1st from 3-5 pm at the clinic.
