20 Years Ago December 26, 2003 Silverton’s own radio station, KSJC--Silverton Community Radio, came to life last week and it’s a reason to celebrate. Although the little station had been broadcasting from an automated system, last Friday marked the beginning of programming that originated locally.

Silverton Holiday Cheer

The 2023 Holiday Season in Silverton was just as magical as usual. We seemed to be in a snow globe with fresh snow blowing in to add to the festivities. Santa Claus came to town on Christmas Eve, escorted by the Silverton Volunteer Firefighters, to listen to kids Christmas wishes.

Dark Sky Mentorship Program for the Town of Silverton

San Juan Development Association (SJDA) recently gained acceptance for the Town of Silverton into the Colorado Dark Sky Mentorship Program through OEDIT.

GOCO Board Awards $56K Grant to San Juan County for Baker’s Park Trail System Expansion

DENVER – Today the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) board awarded a $56,100 youth corps grant to San Juan County for the expansion of the Baker’s Park Trail System (BPTS). This grant is part of GOCO’s Conservation Service Corps program.
