Sheriff James Pearson has warrants charging juvenile delinquency sworn out by Deputy District Attorney O’Rourke against some half dozen persons who were present in the rooms of the Carter girls that evening.

Looking Back!

20 Years Ago December 26, 2003 Silverton’s own radio station, KSJC--Silverton Community Radio, came to life last week and it’s a reason to celebrate. Although the little station had been broadcasting from an automated system, last Friday marked the beginning of programming that originated locally.

Silverton Holiday Cheer

The 2023 Holiday Season in Silverton was just as magical as usual. We seemed to be in a snow globe with fresh snow blowing in to add to the festivities. Santa Claus came to town on Christmas Eve, escorted by the Silverton Volunteer Firefighters, to listen to kids Christmas wishes.

2023 News Year in Review

What a year 2023 has been for little ol’ Silverton, Colorado, and San Juan County! We started last winter with rounds and rounds of big snowstorms, power outages, and closed mountain passes.

Wednesday: 19 degrees at 7:00 AM, mostly high overcast with smaller mids out of the southeast. Shades of grey with some patches of blue up canyon. Then surrounding peaks grew ever fuzzier. Occasional snow showers mid-morning and on. Little air movement.

Filmmaker David Dibble’s ROCKumentary about our local Silverton rock sellers, “Rocks 4 Sale,” will air Thursday, December 28th at 7:30 pm on Rocky Mountain PBS station.
