Two Local Men Charged With Theft of the Aerie Lodge Snowcat

On Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at about 3:00 pm in the middle of the day, two local Silverton men allegedly attempted to steal the under- construction Aerie Lodge’s $140,000 snowcat.

San Juan County’s Anvil Development Moving Towards Annexation into Town of Silverton

At the last San Juan County Commissioner’s meeting, they discussed a petition that would be circulated in the Anvil housing development down on the Northwest end of town, which is still technically on the border of the Town of Silverton limits but not within the town limits.

60 YEARS AGO From the January 31, 1964 edition of the Silverton Standard & the Miner: SKI TOW ATTRACTS MANY SKIERS.
Silverton’s ski tow operated for its first full weekend last Saturday and Sunday.
Fifty skiers used the slopes Saturday and 125 skied there on Sunday.
