San Juan County’s Anvil Development Moving Towards Annexation into Town of Silverton

At the last San Juan County Commissioner’s meeting, they discussed a petition that would be circulated in the Anvil housing development down on the Northwest end of town, which is still technically on the border of the Town of Silverton limits but not within the town limits.

20 Years Ago January 30, 2004 Cyclists in this year’s Iron Horse Bicycle Classic will be able to try out the new pavement on Greene Street. Silverton’s Town Board of Trustees Monday voted unanimously to allow the IHBC to place its finish line near Memorial Park for the May 29 event.

60 YEARS AGO From the January 31, 1964 edition of the Silverton Standard & the Miner: SKI TOW ATTRACTS MANY SKIERS. Silverton’s ski tow operated for its first full weekend last Saturday and Sunday. Fifty skiers used the slopes Saturday and 125 skied there on Sunday.
