The National Weather Service has been issuing Hazardous Weather Conditions and Extreme Cold Weather Warnings for Silverton and San Juan County since last week.

30 years ago January 19, 1995 The town trustees recently approved plans for a Blair Street Arts and Crafts Festival. Kyle Roberts presented the plans at the January 9th town meeting. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, July 2123.

This last Saturday evening on January 18th, 2025, at 6:55 pm, the signed contract to acquire the Silverton Standard and The Miner with a pen, key stoke, and wire transfer took place, and I [DeAnne Gallegos] became the new owner of the local newspaper!
