On Wednesday, August 9th, around 8 pm, the San Juan County Sheriff and Silverton Medical Rescue Team received an SOS call from a bystander who witnessed 79-year-old Gerry Roach of Colorado violently fall over 200 feet down the mountainside. The mountain, called no-name Peak V8, is on the San Miguel/ San Juan County border by Hope Lake.
