135 YEARS AGO From the November 23, 1889 edition of the Silverton Standard: HARRY DUG OUT FROM SLIDE ABOVE EUREKA.
As Harry White was coming down from Mineral Point on Wednesday with his team, he was caught in a snowslide above Eureka and completely covered up. Charles Adams happened to pass and with the assistance of two men dug him out. Harry says he thought his time had come.
