The EPA announced on Friday the 13th that the agency will refuse to pay some $1.2 billion in damage claims filed in response to the Aug. 5, 2015 Gold King Mine spill.
An agency official told the Standard on Friday that “we had a series of tort claims filed against the agency. Last night we sent letters out denying the claims.”
