In good news for the area, Silverton Volunteer Fire Department and a couple helpful locals quickly stopped a small fire that started on Ophir Pass. Local resident Rory Cowie was first on scene with a couple tourists. They started working on the fire with buckets and a cooler. The fire only reached about 1000 square feet.
