Silverton kicked off Independence Day in the best way possible this year, with the Blue Ribbon Run 5K and 10K drawing its biggest crowd yet. Nearly 250 runners crossed the finish line, and race morning was so packed with eager participants that organizers happily pushed the start time back 30 minutes just to make sure everyone got registered and ready to go.
