Wednesday December 30th our temperature bottomed out at -15.6 degrees coming up two degrees at 7 a.m. The valley floor was clear and still with snow plumes on the peaks. 27.6 degree high with a few cirrus clouds by sunset. Thursday -8.4 degrees bottom out.

Wednesday December 23rd. 6.6 degrees at 7 a.m. with snow falling on the surrounding mountains and in town by 8 a.m. We never warmed up enough for significant accumulation. The day remained single digits except for reading 10.5 degrees above zero, perhaps momentarily.

Silverton School Spreads Christmas Cheer

It is a long-standing tradition that Silverton School teachers bake cookies and deliver them during the last week of the semester to K-12 students. They show up to students’ houses and sing Christmas carols, dropping off the cookies along the way.
