Dear Editor As the Silverton School starts Christmas break, I wanted to congratulate the staff and students for pulling off a successful yet safe Fall semester. Unlike so many schools in the area and across the nation, Silverton School has largely remained open to in-school learning.

Silverton School Spreads Christmas Cheer

It is a long-standing tradition that Silverton School teachers bake cookies and deliver them during the last week of the semester to K-12 students. They show up to students’ houses and sing Christmas carols, dropping off the cookies along the way.

RED MTN. OLD TIMER VISITS SILVERTON AND TAKES A BATH. Geo. Walker, the oldest resident of Red Mountain, came in the fore part of the week. He says baths are the greatest feature of Silverton; there are other necessities equally inviting.

10 years ago Epic Storm Hits Silverton December 23, 2010 Snow has been falling in Silverton and the San Juan Mountains for seven days now in what the National Weather Service is calling an “epic” storm. And forecasters say it isn’t over yet.
