10 Years Ago May 13, 2010 Over on Blair Street, Mike Geryak has been tinkering with a demonstration model of a solar-powered street lamp with an old-fashioned look. He put much of it together from materials scavenged from the dump, and it looks pretty good.

DURANGO: • Fort Lewis College has opened a $6 million, 10,000 square foot new sports performance center on campus. The idea started five years ago, but the funding mostly came from Durango local businesses like Common Spirit, Alpine Bank, and other businesses’ generous donations.

Town of Silverton Held Work Session on EQR Rates

The Town of Silverton held an EQR work session to discuss the proposed water and sewer charges that are coming out soon. The two-hour discussion amongst the town trustees included the public at large, and the adoption or next steps of the new rates will be discussed in the next town meeting.
