20 Years Ago August 26, 2005 No one on the town staff will be jumping into the town administrator’s seat too soon, even on a temporary basis. Monday, the Silverton Town Board of Trustees squashed two proposals by staff members to cover the administrative work for the rest of the year.

Silverton is starting to see more bear activity this time of year as the local bears are bulking up for their winter hibernation. Just in the last couple of weeks there have been sightings of a bear lumbering through the Northeast end of town in the early morning and the late afternoon hours.
