Silverton Family Learning Center (SFLC) Board Secretary Whitney Gaskill, who is also a teacher at the Silverton School, opened up the evening with “I have a daughter here in the toddler room (meaning SFLC) and a daughter on the way, and I am a teacher at what we call in Silverton, the ‘big school’.

20 Years Ago December 9, 2005 It’s been at least one decade since an idea sprouted to build a family center for Silverton’s younger children. And the idea has faced a very bumpy road, chock full of obstacles, some of which seemed insurmountable.

Silverton Artist Amy Grogan Releases Art Book “Aspens Alive”

Amy Grogan, a local artist, has lived in Silverton full- or part-time since 1997 and currently lives in the Mancos Valley. Her favorite art medium is traditional block printing, and this love of this printing process, poetry, and Aspen trees resulted in the release of her art book Aspens Alive.
