15 Years ago January 20, 2011San Juan County Sheriff’s Office blotter Jan. 12 — James Snyder, of Santa Barbara, Calif., was issued a citation for speeding; 46 in a 30- mph zone. Alden Cooper, of Norwood, was issued a summons for careless driving and driving under restraint.

From the January 23, 1897 edition of the Silverton Standard: POWDER HOUSE POSES A DANGER.It is reported that in a long disused powder house up the creek, there are upwards of four tons of old giant powder lying around loose.

Town of Silverton Trustees offer Elizabeth Stuffings Town Administrator position

The Town of Silverton Board of Trustees made the announcement at last Monday night’s regular meeting that they have extended a job offer to Elizabeth Stuffings of New Mexico and have entered into a contract negotiation for the Town of Silverton Administrator position with the finalist.
