15 years ago March 11, 2011 Police Blotter:March 11 — Joy R. McKnight, of Ignacio, was issued a citation for speeding; 48 in a 30-mph zone. Patrick C.Murphy, of Highland Ranch, was issued a citation for speeding; 40 in a 25-mph zone. Found property was returned to the owner. A citizen was assisted.

First Annual Silverton St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans

This was the first year for the Silverton St. Patrick’s Day Shenanigans event, with the end goal of turning Silverton into a holiday destination. Silverton local Dr. Yvonne Naughton, who is from Ireland, came up with the idea to make Silverton a St. Patrick’s Day destination.
