Gold Mountain Fire Burns Outside Ouray

As temperatures climbed and wild winds blew across Colorado’s Western Slope, the threat of wildfire became a reality for Ouray County. The Gold Mountain Fire ignited on Saturday and quickly swept up the steep mountainside just outside the town of Ouray.

San Juan County & Silverton go into STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS

On Monday, June 29th, both the San Juan County Commissioners and the Town of Silverton Board of Trustees held their own special meetings and adopted STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS. BLM and the US Forest Service are expected to also go into STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS by the end of the week.

San Juan County Hosts Open House for Bonita Peak Superfund Project

Last Wednesday, San Juan County hosted an open house and BBQ with federal and state agencies involved with the Bonita Peak Mining District Superfund site. The partners had information tables for the public to be able to come, ask questions, and have conversations with them one-on-one.
