Sheriff’s Budget, Non-profit requests, Trustees discuss 2024 budget

This last Monday evening’s Town of Silverton’s Trustee work session about the 2024 budget primarily focused on the amount of monies requested by local non-profit organizations and they had a discussion with Sheriff Conrad about the San Juan County Sheriff’s 2024 budget request.

The San Juan Development Association is Announcing the opening of the application window for the Affordable Homeownership Lottery in Anvil Mountain Subdivision. The application window opened on November 14th and will close on December 14th, 2023, at midnight.

20 Years Ago November 14, 2003 The stick has been passed. Samantha Tisdel turned her position on the Silverton School Board of Education over to Charlie Schmalz Tuesday night. As a symbolic gesture of the change, she handed Schmalz a twisted, gnarled stick.

Ironwood Consultant to Esa Crumb presented an update on the Town of Silverton’s Wetland Delineation project to the Town of Silverton Trustee’s this last Monday night and discussed what work has been done and what work still needs to be done.

Dumpsters, Construction Fence, Building Downtown

At the end of October, as the train passengers and crowds of visitors pulled out of downtown Silverton, ending the summer season, construction fences, commercial dumpsters, excavation equipment, and lots of construction projects took over downtown.
