15 YEARS AGO Police Blotter June 9, 2011Received a complaint of children riding bicycles on the sidewalk in an area where they are excluded by town ordinance.A warning was issued for speeding. A motorist was assisted.Two parking complaints were reported.

San Juan County Enters Stage I Fire Restrictions

With wildfires burning in neighboring counties and warm gusty conditions persisting across Colorado’s Western Slope, San Juan County, the town of Silverton, the US Forest Service, and the BLM have implemented Stage I fire restrictions in an effort to curb wildfire risks.

Gust and Dust

So far in June, no measurable moisture has occurred.This follows lack of moisture after the first week of May (except for .17 on the 19th).June has been up in the 70's so far- day after day. This weather week we often had cloud builds that gave us occasional breaks from solar intensity.
