Silverton Local Nancy Brockman Passed Away 8/18/24

Nancy Brockman passed away peacefully with many close friends surrounding her on Sunday, August 18th, 2024. Ms. Brockman had been facing a terminal illness for the last couple of years.

The hot topic on Silverton’s streets (and alleys) right now seems to be bears. And, more specifically, the human-bear interface. When an event causes emotions and opinions to cast a cloud over town like coal smoke during a winter inversion, it’s best to seek information and ask questions.

The San Juan County Historical Society’s Night at the Museum and 60th anniversary party was well attended. The evening included music from The Silverton Brass Band, KSJC, a Vern Parker art auction, Silverton Youth Art Exhibition, and a partnership with Silverton Creative District.
